Wellmore Cottage

Our Victorian Fishermans cottage sits in the idylic village of Porthleven. Just a few yards away from the harbour, the granite walled cottage provides an authentic, quiet Cornish retreat. Within walking distance are the vibrant restaurants and cafes, artisan galleries and workshops, fishmongers and outside market.

Wellmore Cottage is a two bedroomed retreat cottage Ideal for two couples or a family of up to five people. A Cornish stained glass window above the door welcomes you with a traditional Cornish toast. It dates back to the early 1800’s, around the same time that Porthleven harbour was built and retains some original features including a granite working fireplace. The kitchen diner has been created to include all modern facilities but in keeping with the age and style. There is free Wifi and Sky television.

The master bedroom has a three quarter solid brass Victorian bed. The second bedroom has a bunk bed and a cabin bed. Both rooms are spacious.

We live at the rear of the cottage, close enough to be of help anytime and far enough away to let you enjoy your holiday in peace.

We chose to live in Porthleven after holidaying & visiting family here for over 10 years. We enjoy the cliff walks, the nature retreat at Loe Bar, the beaches and water sports, sailing and taking fishing trips. This is an ideal base in order to access the majority of the South West, from the Minac Theatre, down to the Lizard, over to Truro and up to
St Ives.
